In his remarks, Sidhu emphasized that when a person passes away, all disputes and differences should be set aside, but unfortunately, politics continues to play a role in such matters. He questioned how it would feel if a leader like former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's final rites were not allowed to be held at Raj Ghat, with someone suggesting that his memorial should be constructed elsewhere. Sidhu underlined that this issue transcends political parties and touches upon the history of the nation. He referred to Manmohan Singh as a "special person" and a "living history," pointing out that his contributions to the country were significant and would be remembered. He emphasized that failing to recognize this and act accordingly would be a form of cowardice. Sidhu called for a big heart and the ability to rise above petty politics in such matters. He urged everyone to show respect for the memory of great leaders like Manmohan Singh, as they have left an indelible mark on the nation's history.
