“Very Important day…” Vice Navy Chief On Launch Of First Indigenous Frigate Triput By Goa Shipyard | ABP News
In a significant milestone, Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) successfully launched the first indigenous P1135.6 frigate on July 23. According to an official statement, this vessel is the first of two P1135.6-class frigates being constructed at GSL, marking the first time these ships are being built indigenously. The launch of the frigate Triput represents a major step toward self-reliance, advancing the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. This strategic move enhances the capabilities of Defence Shipyards in building weapon-intensive platforms. Commenting on the launch of the first indigenous frigate Triput, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Vice Chief of the Naval Staff, stated that it is a very important day and will significantly bolster the Indian Navy's capabilities in the coming years.
