UP Love Jihad: Strict Law To Be Passed In State Assembly Today | ABP News
UP: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has introduced the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion (Amendment) Bill in the Assembly to address 'love jihad.' Under this bill, those found guilty could face life imprisonment, and punishments for several offences have been doubled.
Sources indicate that the bill is likely to be passed in the UP Assembly on Tuesday (July 30). New offences have been added under the 'love jihad' category, and the bill also aims to criminalise funding for illegal religious conversions. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken these steps to strengthen laws against forced religious conversions in the state.
