"They should plant big trees like Banyan, Peepal, Neem, Mango, so that there is some shade to get some relief from the heat. People are dying due to 45 degree Celsius temperature. The government only built roads and cut trees," says Local Resident. According to experts, just as it is important to develop infrastructure, it is equally important to conserve the environment. Local residents say, they want the government to avoid cutting large trees while developing infrastructure projects, and also provide basic amenities like toilets and drinking water facilities for commuters. Heatwave conditions continue to prevail across north and central India, with temperatures breaching the 40 degrees celsius mark in many parts.
