Union Budget 2024: India Continues Growing Amidst Global Slowdown, Says Nirmala Sitharaman | ABP News
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, marking the first general budget of the Modi 3.0 government. Sitharaman made history by presenting her seventh consecutive budget, surpassing the record of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai, who presented the budget six times. Appointed as India's first full-time female Finance Minister in 2019, Sitharaman has delivered six consecutive budgets, including an interim one in February. The full budget for the financial year 2024-25 is her seventh consecutive budget.
On Monday, during the monsoon session's first day, Sitharaman also presented the Economic Survey, projecting India’s GDP growth at 6.5-7% for the financial year 2024-25.
