On Tuesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha. This budget, marking the start of Modi government's third term, included significant announcements focused on youth employment. The government will deposit ₹15,000 into the PF accounts of millions joining the workforce for the first time. Key highlights include:
1. ₹2 lakh crore allocated for five schemes benefiting over 5 crore youths.
2. ₹1.52 lakh crore for agriculture and related sectors, enhancing digital infrastructure for 6 crore farmers.
3. Eastern states, especially Bihar, will receive infrastructure boosts, including three expressways and new roads.
4. Employment incentives include monthly reimbursements for new hires and direct benefit transfers for formal sector workers.
5. An increase in Mudra loan limits to ₹20 lakh and ₹2.66 lakh crore for rural development.
The budget also introduced new industrial parks and emphasized support for farmers through the Kisan Credit Card scheme.
