Tragic Incident in Ghazipur, Mother and Son Drown After Falling into Drain Amid Heavy Rains
On Wednesday (July 31), heavy rains lashed Delhi-NCR, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas of Delhi and Noida. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted more heavy rain today, prompting the Delhi government to close all schools. Tragically, a 22-year-old woman and her child drowned in a water-filled drain, and two people were injured in separate incidents. Tanuja and her three-year-old son Priyansh were at the weekly market in Khoda Colony, Ghazipur. According to a police officer, around 8 PM, they slipped and fell into a water-filled under-construction drain. They were retrieved with the help of divers and a crane and taken to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
