Storm and bad weather cause severe damage across UP

Untimely rain, thunderstorm, lightning and bad weather claimed several lives across the state of Uttar Pradesh. In Kannauj, due to extreme wind conditions, electricity poles, hoardings etc were uprooted. In certain places, hailstorms weighing approximately 1 kg fell from the sky. The state government has announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia for the next of kin of those who died due to these conditions.
