During the two-day discussion on the Constitution in the Rajya Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah made serious allegations against the Congress. In his speech, Shah said that the Congress made changes to the Constitution on several occasions during its 55-year tenure for the politics of appeasement. He alleged that the Congress made amendments to the Constitution keeping personal interests in mind, which damaged the social and political fabric of the country. Shah also said that the BJP respects the Constitution and is committed to ensuring its compliance. He challenged the Congress to answer for the constitutional changes made during its tenure and explain to the country for what purpose they were made.
