Ranjan Gogoi nominated to Rajya Sabha by President
Former Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi has been nominated to Rajya Sabha by President Ram Nath Kovind. Gogoi was on the bench of several landmark judgments including the verdict for Ayodhya title dispute. He retired as Chief Justice of India on 17 November. Gogoi was also among the four judges who held a press conference over allocation of certain cases to certain judges.
