Rain Lashes Tamil Nadu’s Pudukkottai City; Provides Relief From Scorching Heat

Pudukkottai (Tamil Nadu), June 18 (ANI):  Rain lashes Tamil Nadu’s Pudukkottai city on June 18. Bringing much respite from severe heat, the city of Tamil Nadu received heavy rains. Commuters and pedestrians experienced difficulties navigating their way through the heavy rain. Individuals were observed seeking shelters to protect themselves from the intense downpour. On Sunday, Thoothukudi recorded the most rainfall with 283.5 mm, while Kanyakumari recorded 128.5 mm between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. For these districts, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai issued a red alert, the strongest degree of warning. Images from these areas showed food water leaking into houses, hospitals, and across roadways. A cyclonic circulation over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and the nearby southwest Bay of Bengal, off the coast of south Sri Lanka, was responsible for bringing in the rains.
