Paris Olympics 2024: Vinesh Phogat Demands Silver Medal After Disqualification | ABP News
Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat announced her retirement on Thursday (August 8), stating that her dreams and courage have been shattered. She expressed that she no longer has the strength to continue. Vinesh Phogat was deeply upset after being disqualified from the Paris Olympics. She was disqualified from the final on Wednesday (August 7) for being overweight.
Phogat has officially appealed the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). She was disqualified from competing in the Women's Freestyle 50 kg wrestling final for being 100 grams over the weight limit. Notably, Vinesh had won her semifinal 5-0, becoming the first female Indian wrestler to reach an Olympic final.
