NEET Paper Leak: Anti-Paper Leak Law To Prevent Use Of Unfair Means In Examinations | ABP News
Amid controversies over alleged malpractices in NEET and UGC NET examinations, the Central government has enforced the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. This new law aims to prevent paper leaks in exams for central recruitment and admission to central educational institutions, aiming to eradicate unfair practices nationwide. As per a gazette notification from the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, the Act's provisions will be effective from June 21, 2024.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) annually conducts NEET-UG across 4,750 centers in 571 cities, with more than 24 lakh aspirants participating this year. Results were announced on June 4.
However, soon after the results, allegations of irregularities emerged, particularly regarding 67 students achieving top scores amid accusations of question paper leaks in Bihar. Similar allegations and irregularities have been reported from several states.
