Mumbai Flooded Once More: A Yearly Struggle with Monsoon Deluge | ABP News
Maharashtra is experiencing a gruelling monsoon season, with excess rainfall causing flooding in multiple cities. Mumbai is particularly hard-hit, with areas like Dadar, Worli, and Parel heavily submerged. The torrential rains are significantly disrupting daily life for Mumbaikars, with local trains delayed and commuters struggling to navigate the flooded streets. On Monday, Mumbai experienced substantial rainfall, with the island city recording 101.8 mm of rain in nine hours, nearly seven times more than its suburbs, which saw only 14.8 mm. Sushma Nair, a scientist at the IMD Mumbai, noted, "The Colaba weather station, which monitors the island city, registered 101.8 mm of rainfall from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, while the Santacruz weather station recorded only 14.8 mm."
