MP News: Baby delivered in the dark at local health centre in Sarwahi as health facilities deteriorate

Health facilities in the tribal-dominated Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh are constantly deteriorating with no electricity supply at the local primary health centre in Sarwahi. The medical team at the centre was forced to conduct the delivery of a pregnant woman using mobile flash lights on Monday. "The delivery (of the child) was done through mobile light at Sarwahi Health Centre and the electrical facility here has been in bad condition for the last 15 days. There is no electricity for the last 48 hours in the market. After coming here, it was found that the electricity of the hospital had been disconnected by the electrical department and it was told that the connection to the hospital was not valid." says local public representative
