Mercury soars across the country as summer peaks

From mountains, to plateaus to plains, the weather seems to have taken a turn and the summer is officially here. The national capital marked a temperature of 46°C while Amritsar recorded 42°C. These were the hottest days of the season for both the cities. Meanwhile, in Kanpur mercury touched 43°C, where animals in a zoo were also seen disturbed by the sweltering heat.
