View In AppMaharashtra Minister and Shiv Sena leader Tanaji Sawant has made a controversial statement about the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). He remarked, "I have never aligned with the NCP. We sit in the cabinet with the NCP, but once outside, we feel nauseous. I have never been aligned with the NCP in my life. I am a staunch Shiv Sainik." In response, NCP leaders have criticized Sawant's comments. Amol Mitkari, an MLC from the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP, retorted that the Health Minister should understand the cause of his nausea. He sarcastically remarked, "Tanaji Sawant does not know why nausea occurs. As a Health Minister, he should be aware of health issues. However, being part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, if he is feeling nauseous, only Eknath Shinde can explain the reason." This is not the first time Sawant has stirred controversy. Last year, a video went viral showing him pressuring a senior police officer in Osmanabad district to transfer a police inspector. In the video, Sawant told the Superintendent of Police, Atul Kulkarni, that the officer should follow his orders, implying that even the Chief Minister should listen to him. Additionally, Sawant has openly discussed his role in toppling the MVA government, admitting that he participated in several meetings supported by Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde to incite a rebellion among a group of Shiv Sena legislators.
