Leaving nation shattered, 'Lata Didi' takes last breath at Breach Candy Hospital
Lata Mangeshkar, the iconic Bollywood singer, died on Sunday in Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital, leaving a nation in mourning. Mangeshkar (92) had been receiving COVID-19 medication for the past three weeks. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari confirmed the news. After her condition deteriorated, the Bharat Ratna awardee was placed on a ventilator on Saturday morning. Mangeshkar was admitted to the hospital on January 11 after testing positive for COVID-19.
