Kanwar Yatra 2024: Name Plate Order Implemented Across UP, Affecting Shopkeepers' Earnings | ABP Live
Yogi Adityanath government has extended the order requiring hotel and dhaba owners to display their names on signboards. Initially this was implemented in Muzaffarnagar, later in the entire state of Uttar Pradesh. This mandate is not only affecting the signage but also impacting shopkeepers' earnings. The holy month of Sawan begins on Monday, during which lakhs of devotees carry Ganga water from Haridwar to Kanwar through various districts of western UP to their homes. The government has made it mandatory for shopkeepers on this Kanwar route to display their names on signboards. This decision has sparked opposition, questioning its necessity and implications.
