Hemant Soren in Ranchi's Raj Bhavan to stake claim to form govt

The JMM, Congress and RJD alliance, which won 47 seats in the 81-member house in the November-December Assembly election, has also secured support of former ally, the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik. Soren was elected leader of the alliance at a meeting of alliance MLAs at the residence of his father and JMM President Shibu Soren on Tuesday night.

Earlier in the day, newly-elected JMM legislators elected him as the leader of the legislature party.
