People visiting the city to offer prayers at the temples and bathe in the river Ganga complained of poor parking arrangements and traffic management. "There is a 5-6 kilometre long traffic jam. It is causing major inconvenience. I have been stuck for 1 and a quarter hour. There is no proper parking arrangement, "I have been stuck for three hours in Haridwar. I have managed to drive for 3 kilometres in 3 hours. Family members insisted to come, but I would prefer to come on foot or on bike. here is major inconvenience. We have been stuck in the jam for one hour," says Local Resident. Each year, lakhs of devotees come to Haridwar from across the country and abroad to take a holy dip in the river ganges. Many pilgrims enroute the Char Dham Yatra also stop over at haridwar before proceeding to Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath.
