Vadodara is the worst affected area, with several residential compounds flooded. Meanwhile, Gujarat is bracing for another natural disaster as a cyclone threatens to hit the Kutch region. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has issued directives to protect people from the impending cyclone. According to the weather department’s forecast, a cyclone is expected to strike Kutch within the next 24 hours. The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify further instead of weakening. This will result in strong winds across the state, including Ahmedabad. Kutch, which is already impacted by heavy rains and floods, is expected to see more rain on Friday, August 30. Mandvi has already received over 11 inches of rain, causing widespread waterlogging, and Mundra has seen nearly 6 inches of rainfall.
