View In AppFormer Lok Sabha Speaker and BJP MP Om Birla arrived at the Parliament on June 25 ahead of the 2nd day of the 18 Lok Sabha Session. Om Birla is an Indian politician, agriculturist, and social worker who was the 17th Speaker of the Lok Sabha from 19 June 2019. He serves as a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Kota-Bundi constituency in Rajasthan since 2014. The President has administered the oath of Protem Speaker to Bhartrihari Mahtab. With this, the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is going to start today. 18th Lok Sabha First Session: After the formation of the new government, the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is going to start from Monday (24 June). On the first day of the first session of the Lok Sabha, MPs of the opposition India Alliance will gather in the Parliament complex on Monday morning and march together towards the House. Earlier in the day, President Draupadi Murmu will administer oath to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Bhartrihari Mahtab as the protem speaker of the Lok Sabha. After this, Mahtab will reach Parliament House and start the proceedings of Lok Sabha at 11 am. Opposition can corner the government on these issues. There is a possibility of noise in the Lok Sabha during the session due to the appointment of seven-time MP Bhartrihari Mahtab as the temporary speaker (pro tem speaker) of the lower house of the parliament. Apart from this, the opposition can loudly raise the issues of inflation, deaths due to extreme heat and irregularities in the conduct of recent examinations. The Central Government on Friday (June 21) canceled the CSIR-UGC-NET examination.
