The Modi government has been working to enhance the country's infrastructure for some time. As part of this effort, proposals for establishing about 12 new industrial towns across various states, including Greater North Gujarat's Doulera, are likely to be approved. Currently, one industrial town is already in the development stage, and with the announcement of 12 new cities, the total number of such cities will reach 20. This move is expected to significantly boost the country's GDP by increasing manufacturing contributions and generating employment. Trunk infrastructure has been developed in four cities: Dohlera in Gujarat, Aurangabad in Maharashtra, Vikram Udyogpuri in Madhya Pradesh, and Krishnapattam in Andhra Pradesh, with industrial plots allocated. Additionally, the government is working on fundamental infrastructure such as transportation, electricity, and water in other cities. The 2024-25 budget aims to further boost manufacturing through public-private partnerships by developing industrial parks in 100 cities.
