Despite lockdown, thousands gather in Anand Vihar trying to reach home

Thousands of people gathered at Delhi's Anand Vihar bus terminal to catch a bus to their hometown despite a lockdown being imposed across the country. Even as PM Modi, Delhi CM Kejriwal and UP CM Yogi Adityanath made several requests to the daily wage labourers to stay where they are, the migrants are adament on their demand to go back home.

Amid the calls of social distancing, a gathering of this scale may prove to be a breeding ground for the community transmission of Coronavirus Covid-19.
