Delhi's Pollution Crisis: CM Atishi Makes Bold Statement on Air Quality Challenges | ABP News
Residents of Prashant Vihar in Delhi's Rohini district are on high alert following a loud explosion in the area. In response, Delhi Police have increased security at the scene and placed local officers on high alert. A team from the National Security Guard (NSG) has also arrived to assist with the investigation, while a forensic team has examined the site and collected samples. Before the NSG's arrival, a heavy police presence was deployed outside the CRPF school near the explosion site. Witness Shashank described the blast, saying, "At the time of the explosion, we thought it was a cylinder blast or a building collapse. There was a massive cloud of smoke that lingered for about ten minutes." He added that the explosion shattered the windows of nearby shops and uprooted hoardings. The police responded within five minutes, likely due to the proximity of the crime branch, police station, and district court, and thankfully, no injuries were reported. The explosion occurred around 7 AM on Sunday outside the CRPF school. Prior to the incident, both the Delhi Police and the Delhi Fire Service had received alerts about a potential blast, but nothing was found at the scene after the explosion, which had broken windows in nearby vehicles. In light of the seriousness of the event, Delhi has been placed on high alert, and police have heightened security in markets ahead of Diwali, as they cannot rule out the possibility of a terrorist plot. Delhi Police PRO Sanjay Tyagi stated, "This morning, Prashant Vihar police station received a report of a loud explosion near the CRPF school. A police team quickly arrived on the scene and detected a strong odor. Windows in the school compound were broken. Senior police officers were dispatched to gather more information about the incident." Police teams are currently analyzing data from mobile towers in the vicinity to determine the number of phone calls made from last night until this morning, as well as reviewing dump data from the area to uncover the identities of those responsible for the incident.
