Cabinet approves decision to reduce MP's salary by 30%
Union Cabinet has approved an Ordinance that will amend the salary, allowances and pension of Members of Parliament Act, 1954 reducing allowances and pension by 30 percent w.e.f. 1st April, 2020 for a year. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar gave this information to the media in press briefing. He also said that The President, Vice President, Governors of States have voluntarily decided to take a pay cut as a social responsibility. Meanwhile, Cabinet also decided to temporarily suspend allocation of MPLAD funds for the current and next financial year.
