The Delhi police are ready to assist the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) in the phased anti-demolition action that will begin today in Shaheen Bagh. Delhi police will deploy its officers as part of MCD's action against unlawful building and habitation in Shaheen Bagh, senior police officials revealed to India Today. The MCD has taken the required preparations to remove unlawful constructions and encroachments in Shaheen Bagh today, as part of an anti-encroachment drive. Illegal encroachments would be removed from Shaheen Bagh's Abu Fazal area, Kalindi Kunj, and other neighbouring localities, according to the South MCD's action plan.
