Big news is coming from Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, where police have encountered and arrested a member of a gang involved in circulating counterfeit currency. The arrested suspect, Mustaqeem, was found in possession of ₹3,000 in fake notes and was also carrying a reward of ₹25,000 on his head. This information emerged early this morning. Mustaqeem, who was engaged in the production and circulation of counterfeit currency, has been wanted by the police for some time. Following a tip-off, the police acted swiftly, leading to his arrest and the recovery of fake notes. Currently, a total of 10 individuals have been apprehended in connection with the counterfeit currency operation. This Kushinagar gang reportedly operates along the Bihar border and is involved in the illegal trade of counterfeit notes that extends to Gulf countries via Nepal. The encounter occurred near Bancolia village under the Sevarahi police station. Mustaqeem had seven cases registered against him, and police had been searching for him diligently. During the encounter, Mustaqeem sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and is currently receiving treatment. In addition to the fake notes, a firearm and cartridges were also recovered from him. The police have indicated that the counterfeit currency racket operating near the Kushinagar-Bihar border has dangerous links, potentially connecting to hostile entities in Gulf countries and other nations. This development raises significant concerns as intelligence agencies continue to investigate the links associated with this gang.
