View In AppOn September 15, India received a significant boost in its rail network with the introduction of seven new Vande Bharat trains. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Tata-Patna Vande Bharat train from Tata Nagar Railway Station in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. In addition to this, he virtually inaugurated six more Vande Bharat trains. During his visit, the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stones and inaugurated several key infrastructure projects, including an important bypass line, a coaching depot, new dual tracks, and subways. This marks the beginning of a three-day program where Modi will oversee the launch of a dozen Vande Bharat trains, including the country’s first ‘Vande Metro,’ in Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Odisha. Notably, the Vande Bharat train running between New Delhi and Varanasi will now feature 20 coaches, while the Vande Metro service between Bhuj and Ahmedabad is set to start on Monday. On September 17, Modi will visit Odisha to lay the foundation stones for various development projects valued at over ₹3,800 crore. Ritika, a female pilot of the Vande Bharat train, shared her excitement with IANS, stating, "I am thrilled that the Prime Minister will flag off the train. I will be operating the Vande Bharat train, and we have received specialized training for it. Thanks to PM Modi, women are being empowered." Similarly, SS Munda, a Vande Bharat train driver from Ranchi, expressed his pride, noting, "We are very excited. The Vande Bharat train is made in India, which is a source of great pride. It features many unique aspects, is easy to operate, and ensures passenger comfort."
