BMC bans liquor sale in Mumbai with immediate effect

BMC has banned the sale of liquor in Mumbai with immediate effect. The decision has been taken to avoid crowding outside liquor shops. The move comes after the Union government allowed state governments to open liquor shops. But after this relaxation was given amid lockdown, long queues were witnessed outside liquor shops across India where often social distancing was visibly compromised.
