While Fadnavis will be sworn in as Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar will assume the roles of Deputy Chief Ministers. The oath-taking ceremony will be held at Mumbai's Azad Maidan, with robust security arrangements in place. Around 2,500 Mumbai Police personnel, along with the Task Force, armed police, and other security agencies, have been deployed to ensure safety. Ahead of the event, Eknath Shinde, the outgoing caretaker Chief Minister, visited a private hospital in Mumbai for a routine check-up, where doctors treated him for throat issues, fever, and weakness. Following his discharge, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis visited Shinde's official residence, 'Varsha,' marking their first in-person meeting since their consultations with the BJP’s top leadership in Delhi last week. Shinde’s recent visit to his hometown in Satara had sparked speculation about his dissatisfaction with the "Mahayuti" alliance's new government formation efforts. However, his aides clarified that he was unwell and not discontented. After the ruling "Mahayuti" alliance's landslide victory in the November 20 assembly elections, the new Maharashtra government is set to officially take office on December 5.
