BJP's Shehzad Poonawalla Takes a Jab at Delhi CM Atishi, Compares Her to Former PM Manmohan Singh

BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday labeled Delhi’s newly appointed Chief Minister Atishi as a "proxy CM" and compared her to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was often perceived to be under the control of then Congress president Sonia Gandhi. Poonawalla remarked, "Today, Delhi has got a new Manmohan Singh. Just like the CM's chair was left vacant, the people of Delhi have now received a 'missing CM'. Earlier, they had a 'CM in jail', then a 'bail CM', who had no power or authority left after the Supreme Court's conditions. And now they have a 'proxy CM'—just like Manmohan Singh." He further expressed his discontent, criticizing the AAP leaders for comparing themselves to Lord Ram and Bharat. Poonawalla stated, "It is unfortunate that they are comparing themselves to Lord Ram and Bharat. What can be said about those who broke promises made in the name of their children? Should they be compared to Lord Ram? Those who couldn’t fulfill their promises are now comparing themselves to Lord Ram." Additionally, targeting the Delhi government, Poonawalla accused them of violating their own order prohibiting the production, sale, and use of firecrackers in the city, alleging that firecrackers were burst just hours after Arvind Kejriwal’s release from Tihar Jail earlier this month, despite the ban imposed by the Delhi government.
