Jitan Sahni, the 65-year-old father of former Bihar minister and VIP chief Mukesh Sahni, was found shot dead at his ancestral home in Supaul Bazar, Darbhanga, on Tuesday morning. The incident sparked a commotion, and Darbhanga SSP Jagunath Reddy confirmed the murder. A large police contingent has arrived at the scene to investigate. The motive behind the killing is still unknown. Mukesh Sahni, the founder of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, is a prominent leader among the Mallah community. He had campaigned alongside Tejashwi Yadav in the recent Lok Sabha elections, and his party contested three seats in Bihar, although it lost in all three constituencies.
