Assam Flood: Floods have wreaked havoc in Assam at this time. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has reported in its report that in the last one month, 58 people have lost their lives in the state due to floods. Apart from this, 23 lakh people have been affected. People are suffering a lot due to floods. Animals are being harmed due to floods and many buildings have been damaged. Hundreds of people have become homeless in the state. The water level of the Brahmaputra and 9 other rivers is flowing above the danger mark in Nematighat, Tezpur, Dhubri and Goalpara. State Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the water level of the rivers is gradually decreasing. 577 relief camps have been set up. Due to the flood, 577 relief camps have been set up in 27 districts in the state. At present, more than 5,26,000 people have taken shelter in the relief camps. Distribution centers have also been set up for food and other assistance. 3,535 villages have been submerged due to the floods. 68,768.5 hectares of crop area has also been submerged.
