View In AppFarmers in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh have embarked on a path of innovation, harnessing the power of carbon credits to revolutionise their agricultural practices. Under the guidance of Rabo Bank and the AF Ecology Centre, these farmers have transitioned from traditional rice farming to a diverse range of crops including millet, pulses, and horticultural produce. In a six-month pilot project covering 1,000 hectares, farmers will collectively earn by selling carbon credits, with each farmer receiving 80% of the proceeds. The farmers understand the goal of the project and are fully cooperative, planting various plants that will turn into trees in the long run.
