Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde to take oath as Chief Justice of India on November 18
Chief Justice of India (CJI) RanjanGogoi is set to retire on November 17.
President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday signed a warrant appointing Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde as the next Chief Justice of India (CJI).
A judge since 2000, Justice Bobde joined the Bombay High Court as an additional judge. He was nominated by the 39th Chief Justice Altamas Kabir as the Madhya Pradesh High Court Chief Justice in October 2012. In April 2013, he was elevated to Supreme Court by Justice Kabir.
