J&K: Terrorist killed, one soldier martyred as encounters break out; stone pelting begins
Three encounters broke out between the security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir at 3 different locations on Thursday morning. One terrorist has been killed in Anantnag district’s Dooru Shahbad. One Army jawan also lost his life during the encounter; where the firing has now ceased.
As per one police official, after tip-off on the location of terrorists in Anantnag’s Qazigund, a search and cordon operation was launched by the security officials. They said, during search operation, the terrorists opened fire on security officials; after return firing; an exchange of fire broke out between both sides.
As per the official, a similar operation was launched in Budgam’s Panzan, during which the terrorists which were hiding in the village opened fire at the security forces, as soon as the retaliatory firing began; an encounter broke out. The security officials have cornered at least 3 terrorists.
Another encounter broke out in Srinagar’s Noorbagh area where a firing took place between terrorists and security forces. Here, security forces have trapped at least 2 terrorists. The internet services in the nearby area have been cut.
