12 days after the Pulwama terror attacks, India hit back through a strike carried out by the Indian Air Force (IAF) that killed a ‘large number’ of terrorists in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The IAF used the latest version of 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets to drop more than 1000 kg of bombs at around 3.30 am on Tuesday morning destroying terror base camps in Balakot.
The foreign secretary confirmed that Tuesday’s attack was in response to the February 14 suicide bombing in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama districted carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammad that killed 40 Indian soldiers.
