Artificial colouring: Melons are injected with poisonous coloring chemicals, including erythrosine B, to improve their color, lengthen their shelf life, and ripen them quickly. You can soak a melon slice in water to check for adulteration and chemical presence in melons. The melon has been tampered with and is unsafe to eat if it turns colored. Fruits and drinks should only use permitted colors and ascents, according to food safety regulators. The Food Safety Department has issued a warning to exercise caution while purchasing fruits and juices from roadside vendors in the summer.
