Bihar: 9 arrested for thrashing 34 girls in Supaul; police's role in question

In Bihar’s Triveniganj assault case , where 34 schoolgirls were beaten up by goons inside school premises in Supaul district, police has arrested seven people including six boys and one woman.

The Superintendent of Police has confirmed that nine arrests have been made so far in the case.

On Saturday as many as 34 girl students had to be taken to hospital after they were thrashed brutally by some audacious goons who broke inside their school premises.

The incident which shook the entire state, took place just because the girls had raised their voice against the miscreants who used to harass the school going girls.

They were beaten for opposing the sexual advances of the boys.

The incident took place at government’s Kasturba Gandhi residential school at Triveniganj . The 34 girls were then admitted to Triveniganj referral hospital after the assault where they were said to be out of danger.

The girls have alleged that the boys used to pass lewd comments at them. When the girls resisted their advances the boys barged into the school and attacked the girls leaving many injured.
