Afghanistan's Mohammad Shahzad ruled out World Cup following a knee injury
In a major setback to Afghanistan, wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad has been ruled out of the ongoing World Cup following a knee injury. Shazad will be replaced in the 15-member's squad by another wicket-keeper batsman Ikram Ali Khil and it has been approved by the International Cricket of Council (ICC).
"The ICC has approved Ikram Ali Khil as a replacement player for Mohammad Shahzad in the Afghanistan squad for the remainder of the tournament," an ICC statement said.
