LCH Prachand : Wait of 22 years is finally over, watch this Special Report | Indian Air Force
The Air Force has got 'Prachand' power. This tremendous power belongs to the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter (LCAH). On Monday (October 3), LCH was inducted into the Air Force in the presence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The Air Force has given a new name to LCH as 'Prachanda'.
The Defense Minister himself also flew at LCH after the ceremony. A complete unit of LCH will be deployed at Jodhpur Air Base. This unit will consist of 10 LCHs. So far, the Air Force has received four LCH helicopters in the first batch. This unit has been named as 143 HU, which will also be known as Trail-blazer.
On Monday, the induction ceremony of LCH began at 11 am after Defense Minister Rajnath Singh reached Jodhpur Air Base. First of all, a Sarva-Dharma Sabha was held in front of the LCH in which all the prominent religious leaders wished the LCH and the air warriors aboard to be safe and prayed for the destruction of the enemies.
After this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh handed over the ceremonial-key of the LCH to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary. During this, CDS General Anil Chauhan and CMD of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), CB Ananthakrishnan were present. LCH is the country's first attack helicopter, which has been prepared by HAL, a state-owned defense undertaking.
