Video Of Woman 'Delivery Executive' Riding Superbike Without Helmet Goes Viral, Company CEO Clarifies
Mehta also claimed that it was an idea by the company's Indore Marketing Head to hire a model to drive around the city.
After a video of a woman wearing a T-shirt like the one worn by Zomato delivery executives, and carrying the company's red food delivery bag, while driving a motorcycle without a helmet in Indore went viral, CEO of the food aggregator Deepinder Goyal clarified saying that the woman isn't their employee and the company has "nothing to do with this."
The video of the woman riding the superbike without a helmet was shared on X, formerly Twitter, by a user named Rajiv Mehta on October 16. He also claimed that it was an idea of the company's Indore Marketing Head to hire a model to drive around the city with an "empty bag".
"Indore #Zomato marketing head had this idea. He hired a model to drive around with an empty zomato bag for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. @zomato is on a roll...," read the caption of the video shared by Mehta.
In the clip, the woman can bee seen wearing a red Zomato T-shirt like and a shorts and riding the bike around Indore as passersby and fellow commuters on the road look at her amazed.

After the post went viral, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal reacted on the post saying, “Hey! We had absolutely nothing to do with this. We don’t endorse helmet-less biking. Also, we don’t have a “Indore Marketing Head”. This seems to be someone just “free-riding” on our brand."
Goyal concluded the post by saying, "Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with women delivering food – we have hundreds of women who deliver food everyday to earn a livelihood for their families, and we are proud of their work ethic."
