In a bizarre incident, a "yellow paper" was allegedly discovered inside a samosa provided by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), according to a passenger on a Mumbai-Lucknow train. Aji Kumar posted images of the "yellow paper" trapped inside the dish on Twitter on Sunday. It looked to be a piece of a wrapper that likely got mixed in with the food as it was being prepared.

Taking to Twitter, Kumar stated: "I am on the way to Lucknow today 9-10-22 I bought one Samosa to eat.. Some portions taken and lastly this is inside in it... Pls look the yellow paper inside somosa... Its served by the IRCTC pantry person in the Train No. 20921 Bandra Lucknow train.... Started train 8-10-22."

Kumar further tweeted that he was travelling on the Lucknow Junction Weekly SF Express with a destination of Bandra. "What hygienic foods supplying by the Pantry provided by IRCTC," he said.

In response to Kumar's tweet, IRCTC on its official Twitter handle stated: "Sir, inconvenience regretted. Kindly share pnr and mobile no in DM".

Separately, the IRCTC has taken up the issue, according to Railway Seva, the official account established by the railway ministry to serve rail consumers.

There have been other reports of individuals finding strange things in their meals, such as cockroaches and lizards - the newest event with the 'chit-like' yellow paper reminded the internet of China's renowned fortune telling cookies.

“IRCTC is trying to introduce their own fortune cookies with an Indian twist!,” a social media user tweeted.
