New Delhi: On Twitter, Congress MP Abdul Khaleque stated that Lionel Messi, a well-known Argentine football player, was born in Assam. However, he later removed the tweet. Assam's Barpeta constituency is represented by Khaleque in the Lok Sabha. The MP wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations from the core of my heart. We are proud of you for your Assam Connection.” (sic) At the point when gotten some information about this Assam association by a Twitter client Aditya Sharma, Khaleque answered, "Yes, he was born in Assam."
Minutes subsequent to understanding his imprudence, the MP erased the tweet.
One user responded to the now-deleted tweet by writing, "Yes sir, he was my classmate." Netizens reacted quickly.
