Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan asserted on Sunday that the YSR Congress Party would not win in the upcoming elections and would not be allowed to do so because he was determined to keep his word and would not allow the anti-YSRCP vote to be divided.


Speaking at a public meeting under the 'Jana Sena Koulu Rythu Bharosa Yatra' near Sattenapalli in Palnadu district after distributing aid to farmers who suffered losses due to cyclones and other natural calamities, the actor-politician called on the party cadres to work resolutely in order to build the party in light of the elections. Each tenant farmer in need received compensation of Rs 1 lakh from Pawan Kalyan.


The JSP chief explained that he had to go public in order to stop the YSRCP government's abuses. He was concerned that there would be major disruptions during the upcoming elections. "But you leave it to me, I can handle problems and have plans in place. It is my duty to lead the Jana Sena Party to victory," he said.

He said that the YSRCP leaders were looting the state, and the Chief Minister declared a "corruption holiday" just because the elections were nearing. He noted that the Chief Minister had suggested that the YSRCP leaders, particularly the Kapu leaders, criticise him. "The Minister of Irrigation, Ambati Rambabu, was one of these politicians," said Pawan Kalyan.


Meanwhile, on Monday, MLA Ambati Rambabu hit back at Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for his remarks against him at a meeting in Sattenapalle.


Ambati told reporters that if Pawan Kalyan's allegations of corruption against him were proven, he would leave politics. The minister said it was made clear by Pawan Kalyan that he will support the TDP in the next elections when he asked his party men to leave the election strategy to him.
