Man Drops Off Wife On Solo Vande Bharat Trip, What Happens Next Is Nothing Short Of A Misadventure

The couple’s daughter shared the hilarious sequence of events that started with the man waking up from his sleep to drop off his wife on her maiden trip on Vande Bharat train.

New Delhi: Call it the flip side of new-age train travel in India! A man seeing off his wife, who was on a solo trip from Vadodara to Mumbai on a Vande Bharat Express, was at the receiving end of a rather unexpected and amusing turn of events after he got auto-locked inside the coach while he was still contemplating the parting words to her.

Taking to her X handle, the couple’s daughter shared the hilarious sequence of events that started with the husband waking up from his sleep and bringing his car out after watching his wife pack two big trolleys for her maiden run on the country’s fastest train — the Vande Bharat Express.

As any doting and dutiful husband would, the man dropped her off at the station in his night dress and set her trolleys down by her seat inside the coach, when the unexpected happened.

“When the train arrived, like every other Indian man, he took the luggage & settled it well near the seats so that mom can sit comfortably,” the daughter, with the username @imkosha posted on X, adding, “That’s when the automatic door started beeping & before my dad could realise, he got locked INSIDE the train & the train started moving!”

She added that her father did try to flag his plight to the ticket checker and get him to halt the train. But his effort came to no avail as the train had already gathered speed by then.

“He found the TC & asked to immediately stop the train to deboard, but the TC said it’s too late the train has already picked up the speed,” the daughter posted.

Though not by design, the couple ended up travelling in the same coach till the next station at Surat from where her husband planned to purchase a return ticket to Vadodara railway station.

“So now both my mom & dad are travelling in Vande Bharat for the first time — my mom till Mumbai & my dad till the next station which is Surat, looking for a return ticket to Vadodara in a night dress, with our car parked somewhere near Vadodara railway station,” the daughter added in her closing post.

The couple might have had their wish of travelling in the country’s fastest train, though they would have preferred to have done so minus the unexpected sleight of hand!
