Indians are used to eating papad along with almost every meal at home. Even restaurants across the country serve this crunchy paper-thin dish made by frying or dry heating flour for free. But a restaurant in Malaysia is being mocked for selling the famous Indian snack as "Asian nachos".

A picture of the restaurant, 'Snitch by the Thieves', serving papad as nachos was shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter by Samantha. In the image, one can see a plate loaded with papad with a side of pickled vegetables. It also added that the dish comprises papadam, avocado, tamarind salsa and crispy shallots.

The price of the 'Asian Nachos' was priced at 27 Malaysian Ringgit, which is approximately Rs 510.

"A culinary crime has been committed," the caption of the post shared on Twitter by Samantha read.

Since being shared on the micro-blogging site, the post has amassed close to 6 lakh views, over 9 thousand likes and several comments.
