An old video showing a group of lions trying to feed on a water buffalo has surfaced on the internet. However, it is not the hunt by the lions that has caught the eyeballs of the internet users, but how the buffalo managed to escape has interested the social media users. The clip shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter shows the animal taking advantage of a commotion between the big cats to escape the dangerous situation.
The video opens to show two male and three female lions preparing to feed on a buffalo but they soon get into a fight and the prey manages to escape and join its herd that was watching from a little distance away.
"Lions fight while eating a water buffalo, then it casually walks off," read the caption of the post shared by Twitter user @weirdterrifying on it page.
Since being shared on Januray 21, Saturday, the video has amassed 15.6 million views and 145.7k likes.
"For the buffalo, literally snatching victory from the jaws of defeat..." wrote one user.
